Experience the Fusion of Food and Music
Every summer, Central Park in Schenectady becomes a global stage, hosting bands from all corners of the world as part of the Music Haven concert series. This year, select concerts will be accompanied by a unique culinary experience – the Taste of the World Dinner Showcase.
The International Center of the Capital Region (ICCR) is hosting this showcase, which includes three-course prix fixe dinners from local restaurants. These dinners will take place at the Thomas Isabella Pavilion before three of the Music Haven concerts. The Taste of the World series is an extension of ICCR’s Cultural Food Passport program, which aims to promote cultural understanding through food.
ICCR Executive Director Holly Planells McKenna expressed her gratitude to Music Haven for their support. “ICCR’s mission is to promote global cultures, and what better way to do that than through food and music? We’re proud of our Cultural Food Passport initiative and invite everyone to join our dinners to support our youth programs.”
The dinners are designed to complement the music of the evening and will take place regardless of the weather on select concert dates from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $40 per person, or $35 for ICCR members, and includes an appetizer, a choice of meat or vegetarian entree, and dessert, along with non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar will also be available.
The series is a fundraising initiative to support ICCR’s youth programs, which aim to nurture the next generation of global citizens in the Capital Region.
