Concerns about the Pine Wood Playground
I’m reaching out to bring attention to the current state of our beloved Pine Wood Playground. We appreciate the efforts of the local council to maintain it over the years, but recently the conditions have worsened significantly. The merry-go-round is rusty, and a few swings are broken, posing serious safety hazards. This park is a central gathering place for many local families, and it’s unfortunate to see it in such a state. I urge the local authorities to take swift action for the betterment of our children and community.

Commendation for Smith’s Bakery
I would like to applaud Smith’s Bakery on Union Street. In the recent storm, they stayed open to provide food for those in need, despite the harsh conditions. Additionally, their warm and comforting ambiance has always been a pillar of our community. They truly embody what it means to be a part of Schenectady. I urge other local businesses to take a leaf out of their book and always strive to put community first.

Traffic Lights Timings On State Street
I travel down State Street daily, and the new timings of the traffic lights are causing gridlock during peak hours. This leads to unnecessarily long commuting times, frustration, and has triggered road rage incidents on several occasions. I propose revisiting these timings to ensure smoother traffic flows and safety for all road users. After all, the arrangement should ease movement, not hinder it.
