Disquiet Over New River Casino
As a lifelong resident of Schenectady, I must voice my disturbance over the recent opening of the river casino. Instead of pouring resources into such flashy entertainment venues, our beloved city can invest in core services that will improve the overall quality of life for its residents. I fear the casino will only exacerbate existing problems in our community, including gambling addiction and increased traffic congestion downtown. I hope the city leaders come up with effective measures to mitigate these adverse impacts.
