Construction Noise in Upper Union District
Over the past few weeks, I have been increasingly disturbed by the extreme levels of noise coming from the construction site of the new plaza in the Upper Union district. My concern is primarily for the elderly residents and those who work from home. The constant roar of heavy machinery, which often begins as early as 6 a.m., is simply unbearable. I believe our city council should enact stricter rules for construction companies around residential areas regarding allowable working hours and noise decibel level limits. This would allow us to better balance progress and quiet living conditions.

Concerned About Reckless Driving Near Schools
Lately, I’ve noticed an unsettling trend around local schools here in Schenectady. There seems to be a serious lack of respect for speed limits, especially in school zones. More than once, I have seen drivers recklessly speed past Van Corlaer Elementary School, during times when students are getting in or out of school. This is not only dangerous, but it’s also illegal and unacceptable. I urge the Schenectady City Police Department to increase patrols around our schools to ensure the safety of our children.

Praises for Revamped Central Park Rose Garden
I just had to write after visiting the recently revamped Rose Garden in Central Park. What an absolute delight! The stunning array of roses, the beautifully kept lawns, and the tranquil ambiance all make it a perfect oasis amid the hustle and bustle of the city. My heartfelt congratulations and thanks to the parks department and all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this gem shine. Through your efforts, you have gifted our community with a wonderfully peaceful place for relaxation and reflection.
