SCHENECTADY — Ally Crowley-Duncan, also known as Ally the Piper, is making waves in the music world with her unique and captivating bagpiping skills. Based in Schenectady, she has gained a massive following on social media, with 1.8 million followers on TikTok.
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara will be honoring Crowley-Duncan with a prestigious New York State Assembly Citation at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Santabarbara, D-Rotterdam, commends Crowley-Duncan for her innovative approach to the bagpipes, pushing the boundaries and bringing a fresh perspective to this unconventional instrument.
Crowley-Duncan will be presented with the award at the Million Dollar Staircase on the third floor of the Capitol building in Albany. This recognition comes as she continues her tour with electric violinist Mia Asano, known as The Devil Went Down to Georgia Tour, which kicked off at The Egg in Albany on Oct. 25 and will include stops in Syracuse, Chicago, and Los Angeles in the new year.
