Fonda-Fultonville boys’ basketball team secures 4th consecutive victory in Section 2

BOYS

FRIDAY, DEC. 22

Eric Pickering scored 19 points, and Guillermo Martinez put in 18 to lift Middleburgh over OESJ 56-35 in a Western Athletic Conference game. Middleburgh used a 22-8 third-quarter run to all but seal the victory. Collin Eakin scored 20 points for OESJ which included a 10-for-12 effort from the line.

Fonda-Fultonville beat Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons for its fourth straight win 56-39 behind Riley Wilson’s 13 points and Colin McLaughlin’s nine. Esiasyn Starr scored 11 for the Knights.

Schoharie topped Mayfield 66-43. Matt Bernhardt scored 22 to lead the Storm to victory. Andrew Martin and Preston DiGiovanni each added 10. For Mayfield, Sean Foreman led with 13. Brody Page had 12.

Brody Holcomb rang up 27 points, Kennen Driscoll put in 19 and Cooper Nadlert had 10 as Glens Falls ran away from Johnstown in a 96-38 Foothills Council win. Driscoll scored 12 points in the first quarter and Holcomb added 10 when the Black Bears opened up a 31-4 lead. Braeden Fennessy led Johnstown with eight points.

Rocco Insonia clicked for 26 points, and nine other Gloversville players found the scorebook in a 64-42 win over Broadalbin-Perth. Jeravontae Russell scored 12 for the Patriots, and Max Hale had 10.

Amsterdam defeated Scotia-Glenville 62-48 behind Aundray Fowler’s 19 points. Jude Flint added 16, while Luis Tirado and Rhys Urbanczyk scored 11 and 10, respectively. Bryre Geniti led the Tartans with 14 points. Melvin Corker scored 11, and Fermin Fabian had 10.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20

Dylan Keane scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Fort Plain past Northville 50-34 in the Western Athletic Conference. Kevin Becotte led Northville with 14 points, and Connor Dickinson scored 11.

Esiasyn Starr scored 28 points as Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons defeated Canajoharie 72-55.

Compton Allgood scored 18 points for the Golden Knights, and Lincoln Baldwin scored 17. Antonio Fairley led Canajoharie with 28 points, and Zach Herset scored 12.

Eric Pickering and JJ Narzymski each scored 15 points as Middleburgh topped Galway 50-44. Carson Eagen, Jackson Flint and Chris Mahar each scored 11 points for the Eagles.

Shaver led four Berne-Knox-Westerlo players in double-digit scoring, with 18 points, and AJ Wright scored 17 to lead the Bulldogs past Schoharie 67-41.

Dayne Coates scored 14 points for B-K-W, and Shane Kirker scored 11. Matt Bernhardt led Schoharie with 15 points, and Preston DiGiavanni scored 12.

Jeffrey Mulhern scored 40 points as Duanesburg rolled past OESJ 97-33. Mulhern scored 28 in the first half alone as the Eagles went ahead 45-13. Dylan Barnes scored 13 points for OESJ, and Collin Eakin scored 11.

GIRLS

FRIDAY. DEC. 22

Cloey Dopp scored 29 points, Brianna Iannuzzi added 13, and Mayfield held off a second-half charge by Cambridge in a 56-52 non-league win. Dopp nailed four 3s and went 7 for 7 from the line. Ashley Moses paced Cambridge with 18 points.

THURSDAY, DEC. 21

Northville defeated Galway 52-25 in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday. Hailey Monroe put up 33 points for the Falcons, including 14 shots from the field and a 5-of-7 mark from the free-throw line. Amber Kolpakas led Galway with 10 points.

Broadalbin-Perth earned a 54-36 Foothill Council win over Gloversville. Mairead Marsden scored 18 points in the win for the Patriots, and Camille Calderone added 15, including three 3-pointers. Zoie Tesi and Lucia Bouchard each scored 10 for Gloversville.

Glens Falls, which saw 12 players get in on the scoring, eased to a 75-15 win over Johnstown, Darielle Gooden led the way with 18 points, while Haley Stafford added 11 points in the win and CJ Lunt had 10. Molly Wilcox led Johnstown with 10 points.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20

Samara Hunt had 20 points and five steals, and Kieonna Christmas had 13 rebounds, seven points and seven assists as Fonda-Fultonville topped OESJ 39-24 in the Western Athletic Conference. Taylor Hayes scored seven points for OESJ.

The game was tied 14-14 at halftime, but Fonda outscored OESJ 21-2 in the third quarter.

Mia Wylie scored 20 points and Angelina Deitz scored 16 to lead Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons past Canajoharie 60-44 in the WAC.

The game was tied 19-19 at halftime before the Golden Knights outscored Canajoharie 20-12 in the third quarter.

Cora Jusino scored 11 points for ND-BG. Megan Blakeslee led Canajoharie with 14 points, and Charlotte Nare scored 10.

Alex Moses scored 14 points to surpass 1,000 points for her high school career while helping Duanesburg defeat Schoharie 59-27 in a WAC game.

Hannah Mulhern had 17 points and nine steals for the Eagles, who improved to 4-1 in the WAC and 5-1 overall, and Allison O’Hanlon had 16 points.

Moses came into the game needing 12 points to 1,000. Mulhern is 22 points away from that milestone.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo got past Mayfield 53-47. Katie Stevens scored 14 points for the Bulldogs, Emmile Edwards scored 13 and Emma Cyr scored 10.

Cloey Dopp and Brianna Iannuzzi each scored 14 points for Mayfield.
