SCHENECTADY – Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Vehicle
A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Van Vranken Avenue earlier this week, according to police.
The individual, who remains unidentified, was found unconscious at the 1600 block of Van Vranken Avenue and was transported to Albany Medical Center after the incident.
Authorities had previously stated that the individual appeared to be in critical condition following the accident.
Van Vranken Avenue was closed for investigation between Kenwood Avenue and Mason Street, and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
Police Lt. Peter Montalto stated that the driver is cooperating with the investigation and no charges are expected to be filed.
The Schenectady Police Traffic Division, Evidence Technician Unit, and the Schenectady County Crash Reconstruction Team are all involved in the investigation.
