In the aftermath of ⁤the attack, the streets of Kyiv were littered with broken glass and mangled metal, as plumes of smoke filled the sky. The harrowing experience was described by Kateryna Ivanivna, ‌a 72-year-old⁤ Kyiv resident, who recounted the terrifying moment when a missile struck, forcing her to ⁣seek⁣ shelter in a subway station.

Meanwhile,‌ in Poland, authorities reported ⁣the entry of a⁢ Russian‌ missile into the country’s airspace, raising concerns about ⁢the⁢ escalating conflict.

Ukraine’s military chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that the air force successfully intercepted most of the ⁢ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as‌ the Shahed-type drones, during the attack. ⁣This ⁣massive ⁣aerial assault marked the deadliest and most extensive attack since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

As the conflict continues, Ukrainian officials have appealed to their Western allies for more air defenses⁤ to combat the escalating threats. The urgent need ‍for⁤ support was emphasized during a United Nations ⁣Security Council meeting, where the attack was condemned ‌as‍ “appalling” by Assistant Secretary-General Khaled‌ Khiari.
