Dorothy Sullivan left us at the age of 86, her life a legacy of laughter, resilience, and a love that extended beyond the bounds of family to touch all those around her.
Dorothy was a proud resident of Schenectady, New York, where she was known as a beacon of community spirit. As a dedicated nurse, she spent her career at Ellis Hospital, providing care and comfort to countless patients with a blend of professionalism and motherly warmth.
In retirement, Dorothy’s passion for life did not wane. She was an avid member of the local gardening club, her tulips and dahlias the envy of neighbors and friends. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she baked and shared recipes handed down through generations.
She is survived by her four children, Anne, Brian, Colleen, and David; her twelve grandchildren; and a great-grandson who brought a new sparkle to her eye. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael Sullivan.
Dorothy’s service will be held at the place where she gave so much joy and received great peace, St. Joseph’s Church, next Saturday morning. Family, friends, and the community she cherished are invited to celebrate a life well-lived and a woman well-loved.
