SARATOGA SPRINGS — Minita Sanghvi, the Saratoga Springs Finance Commissioner, has announced her entrance into the 44th Senate District race against incumbent Sen. James Tedisco, R-Saratoga Springs. Despite criticism from Republican officials, Sanghvi is determined to continue her city role while seeking a seat in the New York State Senate this fall.

Republican Party officials in Saratoga Springs and Schenectady have questioned Sanghvi’s commitment to her current position, calling for her resignation. However, Sanghvi has made it clear that she isn’t taking life or career advice from the GOP.

As an associate professor of marketing at Skidmore College, Sanghvi is confident in her ability to multitask and fulfill her duties as both the Finance Commissioner and a State Senate candidate. She has emphasized that it is not uncommon for people in office to seek a higher political seat or to do so while having another career.

Despite the criticism, Sanghvi remains focused on her goals and is determined to bring positive change to the 44th Senate District. She believes that the district deserves better than someone who has been playing partisan politics for the last 40 years and has not been doing much for the area.

On the other hand, incumbent Sen. James Tedisco has pushed back against Sanghvi’s narrative, highlighting his record of bi-partisanship and getting things done for the people. He has been a strong voice for the voters and is looking forward to continuing to serve as Senator for the 44th Senate District.

It is evident that the race for the 44th Senate District will be a closely watched and highly contested one, with both candidates determined to win the support of the voters.

As the election season unfolds, the residents of the 44th Senate District will have the opportunity to evaluate the platforms and records of both candidates before casting their votes.

Regardless of the outcome, the race for the 44th Senate District is shaping up to be an exciting and pivotal moment in New York State politics.
