Concerned about Veteran Resources in Schenectady County
As a former marine and a native of Schenectady, I am disappointed to see the lack of resources provided towards our brave servicemen and women who have served our county. I recently read the WHNY News article on local veteran suicide rates. Unfortunately, this reality hits close to home as I have lost two of my army buddies to the same fate. It’s clear that we need more support systems, both mental health and economic, in place for our veterans returning home. We owe it to them.

Proposed School District Budget Cuts
As an educator and parent in the Schenectady City School District, I am deeply concerned about the proposed budget cuts. The recent article on WHNY News highlighting these proposed cuts is disheartening. Our children are our future, and to provide anything less than the best educational facilities, resources, and educators is doing them a gross disservice. Before these proposals go any further, I urge our leaders to consider the potential long-term effects on our children and our community.

Improvements in Local Public Transportation Appreciated
I want to express my gratitude to the hardworking employees in Schenectady’s public transportation services. As a lifelong resident and regular bus user, I have very much appreciated the recent improvements to the system, a change that was duly noted in a recent WHNY News feature. The new routes have drastically cut down on commute times and the new buses are clean and comfortable. I applaud our city’s commitment to maintaining a high-quality public transportation system. Keep up the good work!
