SCHENECTADY – The family of Samantha Humphrey is determined to find justice for their beloved daughter. They have recently put up new billboards in Schenectady to keep the case in the public eye and to encourage anyone with information to come forward.
The billboards, located on Erie Boulevard and Maxon Road Extension, were funded by Samantha’s grandfather, Louis Paravate. The family has also raised the reward for information leading to the arrest of Samantha’s killer to $15,000, thanks to the generous donations received through a GoFundMe page.
“We want to draw attention to the case as long as her killer is still walking around endangering other young children,” said Jeff Humphrey, Samantha’s father.
Samantha Humphrey, 14, went missing on Nov. 25, 2022, and her body was tragically recovered from the Mohawk River on Feb. 22. The family is determined to keep the case alive and to provide closure for Samantha and themselves.
The billboards not only serve as a reminder of the tragedy but also as a plea for anyone with information to come forward. The family hopes that the increased reward will provide an incentive for someone close to the killer to speak up.
Additionally, the family is aiming to raise $25,000 through their fundraising efforts. Any excess funds will be used to create a permanent memorial for Samantha, ensuring that her memory lives on for generations to come.
The billboard on Erie Boulevard provides information about the reward and urges residents with information to contact the Schenectady police tipline at (518) 788-6566.
Agree punctuation, disagree opinion: Terrible tragedy. Hope these billboards can bring some closure to Samantha’s family.
Such a heartbreaking story. Praying for justice and peace for Samantha’s family.
