Schenectady Pedestrian Struck Near Union College
A pedestrian was struck and seriously hurt early Tuesday evening near Union College, police said. The pedestrian was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment and remained in critical condition, police said Wednesday morning.
The crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Union Street and Seward Place, police said.
Officers found the pedestrian unconscious and appeared critically hurt, police said. The Schenectady Fire Department treated the pedestrian at the scene.
The Schenectady Police Traffic Division, Crime Scene Unit and the Schenectady County Crash Reconstruction team responded to investigate. The driver of the vehicle was cooperating, police said.
A release did not address whether Tuesday’s weather played a role. Schenectady got about three inches of snow through the day, with snow tapering off about the time of the accident, according to the National Weather Service. The crash remained under investigation.
