The journey of the Union College women’s basketball team in this season’s Liberty League tournament reached its conclusion on Friday. The team faced a defeat against the 23rd-ranked Vassar, with a final score of 64-53. The semifinal match took place at the Athletic & Fitness Center in Arlington.
Tova Geld was the star player for Vassar (24-2), scoring an impressive 20 points. She was well-supported by Sierra McDermed and Julia Harvey, who contributed 17 and 12 points respectively.
On the other side, Jelena Perovic was the leading scorer for the Garnet Chargers (12-15), with a total of 18 points. Kennedy Clark also made a notable contribution, adding 11 points to the team’s tally.
