As we approach the month of June, we are also gearing up for the vibrant and inclusive Pride Month. A plethora of events are lined up to honor and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Check out what’s happening in your vicinity.
Schenectady County
- Join the Schenectady Pride 2024 festivities this Saturday at Gateway Plaza from 2-7 p.m. Expect merchandise giveaways, food and drinks, live music, drag shows, wrestling by The Dynasty, and much more.
- Get creative at the Via Aquarium Tie Dye for Pride Day this Saturday. A T-shirt making station will be available all day for guests. T-shirts are priced at $5.
- Canvas, Corks & Forks is hosting a unique class where you can paint a rainbow tree this Saturday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Each tree comes with a base, light kit, and colored lights. The trees will be painted and sealed for same day take-home. The class costs $55 and proceeds will go to the Trevor Project.
Fulton County
- Love the Glove Film Series is screening the LGBTQ+ film “The Boys in the Band” to kick off Pride Month in Gloversville. Catch the film on June 5 at 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. at The Glove Theatre.
- The Glove Theatre 2024 Pride Ball is set for Saturday, June 22 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Entry is $10 per person. Enjoy live music, adult beverages, dancing, and more.
- Beau Monde Progressive Hair Studio and Day Spa is hosting a Paint and Brunch Pride event at 10:30 a.m. on June 8. Enjoy waffles, sandwiches, fruit, coffee and more while painting under the guidance of Deb Deming. The entry and supplies fee is $25, with brunch being offered separately. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Trevor Project.
Saratoga County
- The Saratoga Springs Pride Flag Raising Ceremony will commence Pride Month in Saratoga at 11 a.m. Saturday. This event is free and attendees are encouraged to wear rainbow colors.
- Whitman Brewing Co. is hosting its charity Brewfest this Saturday from 1-5 p.m. Over 20 breweries will be participating in the tasting event. Pizza and live music will also be available.
- Caffè Lena’s Pride Open Mic Night is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. Sign-up starts at 6:30 p.m. on a first-come-first-serve basis. Each performer gets 10 minutes for their set. A donation of $5 is appreciated from attendees.
- Saratoga Pride Festival 2024 is planned for Sunday, June 23 in High Rock Park from 2-5 p.m. This family-friendly event is free. Dress in your rainbow colors and come celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. An afterparty will be held at Bailey’s Saratoga at 5 p.m.
Montgomery County
- Alt Prom 2024 is happening at the Blake Annex in Amsterdam on Friday, June 14 from 6-9 p.m. This event is exclusively for those aged 13-19 to enjoy an all-inclusive prom environment with dancing, music, food, photo opportunities and more. Admission is $10 per person.
- The “Say Gay!” Event at the Arkell Museum will take place on Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. at 2 Erie Blvd. in Canajoharie. Mary Alexander will present a talk on queer artists featured in the museum’s collection. The event is free and open to all.
