Raise Concern Over Increased Traffic
Ever since the opening of the new Riverside Mall, traffic on State Street has become unbearable. The intersection of State Street and Erie Boulevard is especially chaotic during peak hours. I believe that a traffic light with a longer duration, or perhaps a roundabout, could help in reducing traffic congestion. I am sure other residents also share my concern and I urge our town officials to address this issue urgently.

Appreciation for WHNY News Coverage on Local Sports
I wanted to extend my applause and gratitude to WHNY News for their exceptional coverage of local high school sports. Too often, we only hear about the professional teams from the big cities. But WHNY News has done a tremendous job highlighting our home-grown talents. Whether it be Schenectady’s intense soccer matches or Niskayuna’s phenomenal swimming team, your coverage has been a joy to watch. Please keep it up and continue supporting local sports.

Improving Veeder Avenue Park
I have been a resident of the Crane Street neighborhood for over a decade and one of the factors that attracted me here was the peaceful Veeder Avenue Park. Unfortunately, off late, the park has lost its charm. The play area for children is often littered with trash and is in dire need of playground equipment repairs. The walking trails also need some care. It was always a great place for family picnics, but now it’s just unkempt and almost abandoned. I urge the City Parks and Recreation Department to intervene and restore our beloved park.
