Track Meets in Colonie Relocated to Shaker High Due to Construction Work

Due to the ongoing construction of a brand new turf field at Colonie High School, the ⁣much-anticipated annual​ Colonie summer recreational track and field meets will be⁢ taking place at Shaker High School this year.

The inaugural meet of the 54th Colonie rec track season is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

These exciting meets, generously sponsored by the Hudson ⁣Mohawk‍ Road Runners Club, are open to all ‌and​ completely free of charge. The best part? No registration is required to participate.

The sequence​ of events will include: a one-mile run; a 50-meter dash for children up to 12 years old; a 100-meter dash open to all ages; 400 meters; 800 meters; 200 meters; a two-mile run; and thrilling relay races.

Field events will⁤ feature the triple jump, long jump, shot put, and discus. Remember, all meets commence at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays.

The remaining schedule includes meets on July 2, 9, 16, and 23.

Mark your calendars for the Colonie ​Mile, which will be held ​on July 9, and don’t ‍forget about Ribbon Night on July 30.

It’s important to note that this program ‍is privately and independently run, and does not have​ a direct affiliation with the North Colonie School District.
