Police report man threatened with machete in Schenectady struck by vehicle, according to allegations

SCHENECTADY – A dramatic incident unfolded in‌ Schenectady when a local‌ man, who allegedly threatened individuals with a machete, was hit by a vehicle, according to police reports.

Fortunately, no other‌ individuals involved‍ in⁢ the alarming event sustained any injuries, as ‌confirmed ‌by a police representative.

The ⁤man, who was reportedly wielding the‍ machete, has been identified‍ as Jai Heath, a 45-year-old resident‍ of Schenectady. He was promptly transported to Albany Medical Center ​for medical​ attention. The extent of his injuries remains undisclosed at ​this time.

The incident took place ⁤around 8 p.m. on Gray Street, in ⁢close proximity to ‍Helderberg Avenue, as per the police statement.

Heath is alleged to ​have brandished‌ the ‌machete in a ⁤threatening manner towards his⁤ family members, and was‌ subsequently struck by a car during the course of the incident, added the police spokesperson.

Heath now faces‌ charges of second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and ⁤fourth-degree criminal mischief, all of which are misdemeanors.
