In 1970, I embarked on a new journey and relocated to Schenectady. My initial residence was a charming apartment nestled on the second floor of the iconic Wedgeway building. The apartment was adorned with expansive windows and terrazzo floors, and it was conveniently located amidst a plethora of stores that dotted State Street.
From time to time, I would lend a hand at the quaint luncheonette situated downstairs. This also gave me the privilege of enjoying free movies at the local theater. This very apartment is where I brought my firstborn home.
These cherished memories still warm my heart, and I am overjoyed to learn that the building has been preserved and is currently undergoing a transformation. I eagerly look forward to the day when I can revisit this place that holds so many special memories for me.
