BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — In a remarkable display of courage and quick thinking, the spouse of a pilot who was suddenly incapacitated due to a medical crisis,⁤ took the controls ‍and successfully landed ‌their aircraft in California, as per the information provided by⁣ the authorities.

As reported by The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Eliot Alper, a real estate broker,‍ was piloting a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air 90. He was accompanied by his wife, Yvonne ⁣Kinane-Wells. They were en ⁣route from Henderson, Nevada, to Monterey,⁣ California, on Oct. 4 when Alper was struck by a sudden ‍medical emergency, rendering him unable to continue flying.

In this critical situation, Kinane-Wells ⁢bravely stepped up, took over the controls, and ‍with the assistance of air traffic controllers at⁣ Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, California, she managed to land the plane safely,⁣ the newspaper detailed.

Regrettably, the newspaper also reported that Alper did not survive the medical emergency. A representative from Spacefinders and Ramrod‌ Realty in⁤ Henderson confirmed the unfortunate news, but⁤ chose to remain anonymous.

According to a report from the Federal Aviation⁣ Administration, one member of ‌the flight crew, presumably Alper, passed away during the incident. The report also confirmed that there was only one⁤ other individual, presumably Kinane-Wells, on board at ‍the ⁤time.

During the emergency landing, Kern County fire authorities ⁢were alerted and ⁤promptly arrived to provide assistance.

Jon Drucker, the agency’s ⁢spokesperson, ⁤stated that dispatchers received a call informing‌ them ‌that the co-pilot, Kinane-Wells, ⁣would be taking over the landing procedures. Fire ‍authorities then followed the aircraft down the runway and pursued it until it came to‍ a complete stop.

  1. Disagree – It’s amazing she was able to land the plane, but why wasn’t there more support available for her husband’s medical crisis
