Street Lighting Issue in the Upper Union Street District

With the advent of winter and early twilight hours, it has become quite evident that the public street lighting in our neighborhood of Upper Union Street District is woefully inadequate. Walking from the local grocery store or returning from a neighbor’s house in the evening has become a perilous adventure. Increased incidents of petty thefts and suspicious activities lately have also raised security concerns among residents. I urge the city council and local authorities to address this issue promptly to ensure our safety.

Undue Noise Pollutions from Gateway Park Concerts

Whilst live music concerts are a wonderful means of community entertainment, the excessive noise from such events held weekly at Gateway Park has been highly disruptive. Elderly people and individuals with health and sleeping disorders among us are suffering the most. The concert amplification levels are simply too high for a residential area. I reckon the city authorities should consider a balance between recreation and residents’ right to peaceful living. Remedial actions could be adjustig volume levels or scheduling such events at locations within the city designated for loud public events.

Recognition to the Public Works Department

Through this platform, I would like to extend my gratitude and appreciation towards the Schenectady Public Works Department for their relentless work during the recent snowstorms. Their prompt actions and tireless efforts in clearing the snow accumulation ensured continuous movement and minimal disruptions. During such times, we realize the importance of their jobs and it’s crucial that they get the recognition they deserve. I would like to extend my hearty thanks and hope that the city authorities acknowledge their hard work suitably.
