Michael O’Neil passed away at the young age of 23, a life marked by bravery, dedication, and the promise of a bright future.

Michael was a native of Ballston Spa, a tight-knit community just a short drive from Schenectady, New York. From a young age, he was known for his leadership qualities and a strong desire to serve his country. He enlisted in the military immediately after high school and quickly distinguished himself through his commitment and courage.

A beloved son and friend, Michael’s passion for life extended beyond his military service. He was an avid outdoorsman, often found leading his friends on hikes through the Adirondacks or organizing community sports events. His infectious laugh and boundless energy were a joy to all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, John and Mary O’Neil; his younger sister, Erin; and his grandparents, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael’s untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of his family and all the lives he touched.

Michael’s service will honor his life and service to his country. It will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park in Ballston Spa, next Saturday morning. The community is invited to come together to remember a young man who was a true hero in every sense of the word.
