Scotia-Glenville secures victory over Amsterdam/Broadalbin-Perth with Robar’s last-minute pin in Section 2 boys’ wrestling

AMSTERDAM — Thursday night’s Foothills Council boys’ wrestling match between Scotia-Glenville and Amsterdam/Broadalbin-Perth was a thrilling showdown that kept the audience ⁤on the‌ edge of their seats until the very end.

Dominic ⁤Brydie’s impressive second-period pin over Scotia-Glenville’s Zaiden Hempstead in the 170-pound match brought Amsterdam within four points heading into the finale in the 190-pound division —‌ a​ bout⁢ that ⁣could have gone either way.

With the 190-pounders tied in points late in the third period, Ethan Robar was able to secure a pin ‍over Amsterdam’s Mason Earley to clinch the match for Scotia-Glenville, with a final‍ score of 41-31.

Scotia-Glenville also​ earned pinfall victories from ⁤Kaleb Sweeney (215), Luke Orminski (285), Sam Watson​ (152) and Lyndon Barber (160). Tanner Knaggs (138) put together an 18-3 technical fall win for the Tartans ⁢as well.

Amsterdam/Broadalbin-Perth had ⁤their own ⁢standout performances, with Breyana Montalvo⁢ picking ⁤up a second-period pin​ in the 116-pound match, Messiah Grant earning a 13-5 major decision, and Hayden Shutts rallying ⁢to‍ win a last-second ⁣11-10 decision in the 145-pound match.

The match was filled with excitement and showcased the incredible talent and⁤ determination of⁢ the young‌ wrestlers from both ​teams.
