SCHENECTADY — The⁢ tech landscape in downtown Schenectady is about to⁢ get a significant boost with the ⁤arrival of MTX Group and mavQ. These tech giants are setting up shop ⁣at 400 State St., ‍with⁢ the‍ grand opening of ⁢their offices scheduled for Thursday.

In October, the Schenectady County ‌Metroplex board greenlit a $100,000 grant to facilitate the relocation to ⁤the 9,000 square feet office‌ space on the third floor of the State Street building, situated above the BTM Movieland multiplex.

The ⁣new office space will serve ‍as the operational hub for the Dallas-based MTX technology consulting firm and mavQ, a tech company known ‌for its innovative artificial intelligence-driven platform.

This strategic move has already ⁤created 25 new jobs in the city, and the tech ⁢firms have plans to further expand their workforce ‌in the near future.

“Our growth is inevitable,” said MTX Group President Mahesh Nattanmai on Thursday. “We annually recruit 50-70 fresh graduates, who are then deployed across the nation. With our new office here, we anticipate a ⁣surge in local ‍hiring.”

Metroplex Chairman‍ Ray Gillen revealed that MTX ‌has committed to a long-term lease at‌ the space, previously occupied ‌by Siemens technology ⁢company.

“We’re on a mission to attract new office tenants for the county,” Gillen stated⁢ on Thursday. “While other communities are experiencing tenant⁣ loss, we’re on the winning side.”

The Schenectady location ⁤marks the fourth American office for MTX, which also ⁤has two offices in India.

“You’re not just tenants, you’re now part of our community and ⁤our history,” Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy told the new occupants during a ribbon-cutting ceremony‌ on Thursday. “More importantly, you’re going to play‌ a crucial role in shaping the ⁤future of this city and the region.”

MTX Group CEO⁢ and founder Das⁤ Nobel recalled that the company inaugurated its first office space‌ in Troy in⁢ 2017, followed by another office in Albany.

“We’re committed to ⁢being a⁣ reliable partner and together, we will uplift our team and the community,” Nobel said. “We don’t claim to be extraordinary, we simply show up every day, build trust and strive to get the little things right.”

mavQ CEO Vamshi Vaddiraja assured on Thursday that the ⁤company is dedicated to employing local talent.

Schenectady County Legislature Chair Gary Hughes praised Metroplex’s efforts in⁢ revitalizing the downtown business district, which has attracted companies like ⁣MTX and mavQ to set up offices near the‍ Transfinder headquarters on ⁤State Street.

“Investors and‍ job creators recognize that Schenectady is welcoming and supportive,” Hughes said. “We ensure a smooth and seamless process, without unnecessary hurdles, while adhering to regulations and laws.”

Nattanmai highlighted the ‍appeal of the downtown location for the company and its employees, citing the close proximity to restaurants and cultural landmarks like ⁤Proctors, all⁤ within walking distance from ⁤the office.

“This is⁣ a momentous day as it signifies that companies are choosing to ⁤invest in Schenectady,”⁤ said ‍Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, D-Rotterdam. “They⁣ appreciate what they see here and value the partnerships. That’s why⁣ they’re‌ choosing ⁣Schenectady.”
