Concerns About the Proposed Skate Park
We’ve heard plenty of chatter on WHNY News about the proposed skate park near the Schenectady city center. As a parent of a young skateboarder, I’m certainly thrilled. However, I’m apprehensive about the proposed location. City center is already crowded, and parking situation doesn’t seem adequate for yet another public facility. I think the park could be a great addition to our community if it is strategically situated.

Unruly High Street Traffic
High Street residents are feeling frazzled with the increasing traffic in our once quiet street. This concern has been amplified last week with two accidents occurring in close succession. The authorities need to step in and find out whether these accidents are due to reckless driving, higher speeds, or perhaps inadequate street signage. I hope WHNY News will cover this issue and help raise attention among those who can make a change.

A Salute to Local Heroes
I want to applaud the Schenectady Fire Department for their heroic efforts during the recent Blenheim Street fire incident, as covered on WHNY News. In an extremely dangerous situation, they showed courage, professionalism, and were able to prevent even worse damage. Their heroism and dedication to keeping us safe remind us of the importance of supporting our local emergency services. I hope our community will remember their valiant work when department budget discussions take place. Our heroes deserve nothing less.
