Tuesday marked a significant milestone for Terry Primm, as he ‍celebrated his inaugural victory as the head coach of the Siena⁢ women’s basketball team. The Saints ensured that Primm’s first win was⁤ a comfortable ⁢one,‍ dominating⁣ the game from start ⁤to finish.

The Saints set ⁣the tone early,⁢ establishing an impressive 18-4 lead ‍in the first ‍quarter. They maintained this momentum throughout the game, culminating⁢ in an emphatic 87-50 non-conference ‍triumph over Central⁣ Connecticut State‌ University at Detrick Gymnasium in New Britain, Connecticut.

Graduate student Ahniysha ‌Jackson ‍and newcomer Zyriah Price were key‍ contributors to Siena’s victory, each netting 17 points. Their combined efforts in‌ the first quarter helped ‍establish a comfortable lead that the Saints never ‌relinquished.

Jackson bookended the quarter⁤ with‍ a pair of layups, while Price contributed six consecutive points, including a 3-point play and a 3-pointer that extended Siena’s lead‍ to 10-2.

Primm, who took over the reins when Jim ⁢Jabir retired ⁣in March, had previously led the team during a 6-1 stretch last season while Jabir ⁢was on leave. However, as Jabir was still the official coach, this victory ⁢over‍ CCSU marks‌ Primm’s first official win as head coach.

In a repeat of his strategy from the⁤ previous game,⁢ Primm opted for a compact ⁤seven-player rotation, notably‍ excluding one of Siena’s top players, Anajah Brown.

Junior Teresa Seppala put in a strong performance, scoring 15 points‍ and securing eight rebounds in her second game since returning from a stint with the Finnish national‌ team. Freshman Aniya Hooker also made a significant contribution, with 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals to her name.
