Barbara Jensen passed away at the age of 63, her life a beautiful mosaic of community, creativity, and love.
A Schenectady native, Barbara was a pillar in her community, known for her volunteer work and her role as the local librarian, where she organized summer reading programs and storytelling hours that enchanted young minds. Her passion for literature was only surpassed by her dedication to her family and those she served.
Barbara’s warm smile was a fixture at the local farmer’s market, where she sold homemade jams and crafts. She was also a talented pianist, often sharing her music at church services and community events.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Eric; her two children, Thomas and Emily; and her four grandchildren. Barbara’s spirit, her nurturing presence, and her love for her family and community will be deeply missed.
The service for Barbara will be held in the same library where she inspired so many, next Thursday afternoon. Family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched are invited to celebrate a life that was truly well-lived.
