Carmen Rodriguez has passed away at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and enduring love.

Born and raised in the close-knit community of Schenectady, New York, Carmen was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. She devoted her life to her family and her community, working tirelessly as a nurse at the local hospital for over four decades. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her dedication to her patients was unparalleled.

Carmen’s life was one of service and celebration. She was an active member of her church, where she sang in the choir and organized countless community events. Her love for her heritage was expressed through her wonderful cooking, which brought a taste of her family’s origins to upstate New York, especially during the annual cultural festival where her empanadas were legendary.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Roberto; their four children, Maria, Lucia, Carlos, and Elena; ten grandchildren; and a large extended family that spans several states.

Carmen’s service will be a testament to her spirit, bringing together family, friends, and those whose lives she touched. The ceremony will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, with a gathering at 3 pm next Thursday to honor a woman whose smile, like her generous heart, knew no end.
