Daniel “Dan” Harrison has left us at the age of 78 after a life filled with adventure, laughter, and the love of a close-knit family.

Born in the heartland of America, Kansas, Dan was a man who embraced the spirit of the Midwest with every fiber of his being. From a young age, he showed an entrepreneurial spirit, establishing a successful chain of hardware stores that would become a staple in his community. He was known for his firm handshake, his honest dealings, and a smile that never failed to brighten someone’s day.

Beyond his business achievements, Dan was a pillar of his community, serving on the boards of several charities and as a mentor to young entrepreneurs. He believed in giving back to the community that had given him so much, and his generosity knew no bounds.

Dan’s zest for life was matched only by his love for his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Harrison; their three children, Laura, Peter, and Amy; and his six grandchildren, who will miss his larger-than-life presence at family gatherings.

Dan’s life will be celebrated in a manner as warm and inviting as he was. The memorial service will be held at the Riverside Community Center next Friday, where friends and family will come together at 2 pm to share stories and remember a man whose legacy will continue to inspire.
