With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Johnson at the age of 82. Bob was a man whose laughter was infectious, whose stories were legendary, and whose presence was a comfort to all who knew him.

Born in the bustling city of Chicago, Bob was a man of many talents. He served in the military in his youth, after which he spent his career as a skilled carpenter, crafting not only furniture but also strong relationships and a legacy of hard work and integrity. Bob’s hands were rarely still; he was always building, fixing, or creating, a testament to his belief that there was always work to be done and fun to be had.

Bob’s joy for life was evident in his love for the outdoors. He was an enthusiastic fisherman and an avid bowler, with a trophy collection that rivaled his rollicking tales of ‘the one that got away.’ His retirement was filled with travel, exploring the highways of America with his beloved wife in their RV, making friends at every stop.

He leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife of 60 years, Margaret Johnson; his children, Patrick Johnson and Deborah Miller; his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; along with a community of friends who were like family.

Bob’s life was a journey of joy, laughter, and love. We invite you to join us in a celebration of his life at the Hope Funeral Home this Saturday at 11 am, where we will share stories, honor memories, and bid farewell to a man who was truly one of a kind.
