SCHENECTADY - The passing of Stephanie Hayes, a candidate for Schenectady City Council in the recent election, has left a void in the community.
Hayes, aged 63, was known for her dedication to volunteer work and her involvement with the Schenectady Republican Committee. She was also an active member of her church and worked as an office administrator for Revenge Plumbing in Albany.
Despite an unsuccessful election bid, Hayes was committed to addressing local issues such as city sidewalks and speeding concerns on local roads.
City of Schenectady Republican Committee President, Tom Kennedy, paid tribute to Hayes, describing her as a compassionate spirit who dedicated her life to serving others.
“Stephanie was a friend when I needed a friend,” Kennedy said. “She will be deeply missed, but I find comfort in knowing she is where she always wanted to be, with her Lord, Jesus Christ.”
Republican Women of Schenectady County President Julie Davenport also expressed her sadness at Hayes’ passing, highlighting her deep faith and commitment to helping others.
At a recent Schenectady City Council meeting, Council President Marion Porterfield offered her condolences for Hayes, emphasizing the impact of her contributions to the community.
Stephanie Hayes leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
