Get Ready for the 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival in Saratoga!
If you’re planning to attend the 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival at Saratoga Race Course, you better start looking for accommodations soon. Hotels in the Capital Region are already filling up fast, with the event just a little over four months away.
Gov. Kathy Hochul made the official announcement in December that the Belmont festival will be held at Saratoga Race Course from June 6 to June 9. This decision was made due to a $455 million renovation taking place at Belmont Park.
The festival is expected to draw thousands of people to the Capital Region, and with Saratoga Race Course having a capacity of 50,000 people, it’s no wonder that hotels are quickly reaching full capacity.
Popular hotel chains like Hilton Hotel & Resort and Marriott Bonvoy are already fully booked, including locations such as Embassy Suites, Courtyard by Mariott, and Residence Inn Saratoga Springs. Even hotels in surrounding municipalities are seeing rooms sell out, like the Hampton Inn Clifton Park, which is already fully booked for the festival weekend.
According to General Manager David Wasiak, the Hampton Inn Clifton Park is always busy during track season, and it’s no surprise that rooms were quickly booked up for the Belmont festival. Rooms at the hotel are going for anywhere from $300 to $500 per night.
Meanwhile, the Home2 Suites by Hilton in Queensbury is sold out for Saturday and Sunday of the Belmont weekend, with rates ranging from $299 to $599 per night. In Schenectady, The Hampton Inn is also getting close to being fully booked for Friday and Saturday of the festival.
With tickets for the festival set to go on sale in February, it’s clear that the excitement for this event is already building up. NYRA recently unveiled the new logo for the event, featuring the iconic Saratoga Race Course in the background of the green and gold emblem.
