Back in February 1976, Linton High School seniors Michael Schill and Jacqueline Spain, pictured second and third from left respectively, were honored with the “outstanding young man and woman” awards by the Schenectady Jaycees. Also in the photo are runners up Jay Ziffer and Carla Boehm, and award presenters Stan Harris and Betty Guthrie.
In February 1976, two new members were initiated into the Schenectady Elks Lodge. Pictured from left are Exalted Ruler George Long, his son Thomas, Robert St. John, and his father, Trustee Paul St. John.
During the winter of 1976, a group of young magic enthusiasts practiced their craft. Pictured from left are John Herrick, Karl de Leon, Bryan Blume, and Tom Balga. They were part of a magic show held at the Schenectady Boys Club’s Union Street Center.
In February 1976, Richard C. Carbin, standing on the far right, was sworn in as the Glenville Town Justice. The oath was administered by Town Clerk Robert Hood. Carbin’s family, including Sheila, Richard, Melanie, and his wife Mary, watched on with pride and joy.
In the same month, art enthusiasts gathered at the Schenectady Museum to support the “Black American Artists in Historical Perspectives” exhibition. Among those present were museum director Mark Winetrout, Margaret Cunningham, the president of BlackDimensions in Art Inc., the exhibit’s sponsor, and renowned artist and author Elton Fax.

They are seen at the YMCA’s newly expanded day care center, a testament to the community’s commitment to providing quality care for its youngest members.
Fast forward to Valentine’s Day 2012, where we find the kindergartners of Tesago Elementary School in Clifton Park. They are seen here serenading their guests with songs during their ‘Sweetheart Day’ party, a heartwarming tradition that continues to this day.
