Shooting Incident Reported on Mumford Street in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY – Late Thursday ⁢night, a shooting incident occurred on Mumford Street, resulting in one ‍person being injured, according to local police reports.

The victim, ‌an adult male, received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to Albany Medical Center. His injuries, while serious, were not deemed life-threatening by the attending police officers.

Emergency services, including police officers and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene ⁣in front of 532 Mumford St. shortly before 11 p.m. following reports⁢ of⁤ a shooting​ incident.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered ⁣the victim in the vicinity, suffering from a⁤ gunshot wound.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, ‍and the police ⁢are urging anyone with information to come forward and⁢ contact them at 518-788-6566.

Assistance at the​ scene was provided by the New York State Police and the Schenectady ⁢County Sheriff’s Office, in addition to the city police.

This incident ⁣follows a separate violent event that occurred just over 24 ‌hours prior, ⁣where two individuals sustained stab wounds on ⁤the 300 block of Furman Street around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Both victims were also transported to Albany Medical ‌Center for treatment.
